The Wolterscope 150/170/200 can be attached to telescope mounts from different manufacturers. You should take care that the mount is able to carry a weight of more than 10 kg (15 kg for Wolterscope 170 and 200) and that it is a German type mount. For the attachment, an aluminium plate is mounted at the underside of the telescope tube. It will be necessary to drill some holes or threaded rods into the plate, to connect the plate with the adapter rail of your specific mount. We are able to install the adapter rails for the most commonly used mounts, but this can also easily be done by a mechanical workshop.

If you need some additional holes or threaded rods, the aluminium plate should be deinstalled first. For this purpose, you should locate the telescope topside down on a table. You can remove the adapter plate from the underside of the telescope by removing 4 screws. You need a crosslike screwdriver to do this.

In principle, the telescope can also be installed within a fork type mount. The distance of the two legs should be more than 210/230 mm (the height of the tube) and their length at least about 400 mm. You will need special mounting flanges attached to the upper and lower side of the telescope tube. Therefore another aluminium plate should be installed on the upper tube side at a position opposite to the plate at the underside.

Saddle-type mount

The Multi-Schiefspiegler could also be attached on a saddle above the declination shaft of a German type mount (see image above). Here, an u-shaped aluminium plate is attached to both ends of the declination shaft. The telescope is mounted onto the platform of the u-type carrier. Such an u-shaped adapter plate can be build by a mechanical workshop. A certain height of the platform above the declination axis is necessary to ensure that the saddle can freely rotate around the upper mounting socket.
The advantage of this saddle type mounting is that you can use a weaker mount because the centre of gravity of the tube is almost located above the centre of the mount. You do not need a counterweight. But there is some danger that the tube will tip down if you tilt the telescope towards the zenith. The tube needs additional weights at the upper end to balance it or you have to tighten the declination clamp very strong. Another disadvantage of this mount is, that you can not reach a region of the sky around the northern star.
This type of mount is sometimes used to attach Schiefspiegler telescopes, mainly to observe the moon and planets.
